We know that the new 2.5 liters turbocharged four-cylinder engine was offered on the new Mazda CX-9. The new engine was designed in a way so that it would be able to fit into any other Mazda model but that does not mean that Mazda plans to do it.
According to Mazda, the new engine seen under the hood of the Mazda CX-9 was design to fit into any other Mazda model. Because of that, some people have concluded that the upcoming Mazda 6 might come running on the new engine.
Well, it looks like that won’t be happening. Mazda later came out to say that although the engine might fit, making the Mazda 6 run on the new engine is not as easy as it sounds. Testing and upgrades will have to be done and with the Mazda 6 update fast approaching, they probably won’t be able to get it done in time.
The new 2.5 liter turbocharged four cylinder engine will be delivering about 227hp and 310lb ft of torque.
