The Jeep Wrangler has always been popular but it was never the best-selling Jeep model mainly because it was held back by the slow production rate of the plant but that will not be happening this time around as Jeep work to upgrade the Jeep Wrangler plant.
It was initially believed that Jeep would move the Jeep Wrangler to another plant but it looks like Jeep has decided to keep the Wrangler at their Toledo plant. To make sure they customers are not forced to wait for weeks and months for the new Jeep Wrangler, FCA announce that they will be investing $1.05 billion to upgrade the plant. The upgrade will help create 700 new jobs.
The upgrade will raise the plant’s production capacity to 450,000 although their aim will be to produce only 350,000 units of the Jeep Wrangler annually. The rest of the plant will be used to build the new Jeep Wrangler base pickup truck.
The upgrade should allow the Jeep Wrangler to climb to the top to become the best-selling Jeep model this time around.
