Based on the sales number of both the Toyota RAV4 and the Honda CR-V, Honda is slightly ahead right now but things might change soon if Honda keeps holding the Honda CR-V back.
Unlike the Toyota RAV4, the Honda CR-V does not come in with a hybrid option even though it is clear that their customers want hybrid to be an option. Toyota’s sales went up by 10% when they first introduce the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid model but even that wasn’t enough to convince Honda that the hybrid engine is worth offering.
Based on what we have heard so far, it does not look like the 2017 Honda CR-V will be getting a hybrid option but it is believed that the 2018 model will be getting a hybrid engine when it arrives.
The 2018 model will also be getting a new design that is based on the new Civic. Toyota RAV4 might want to watch out.
