Both the Honda Accord and the Kia Optima will be coming in with a hybrid option but if you had to choose one out of the two, which model would you pick at the end of the day?
The Honda Accord Hybrid will be coming in with a facelifted front. Under the hood is a 2.0 liter Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine that will be paired with two smaller electric motors. The Honda Accord will come with three drive modes, EV Drive, Hybrid Drive as well as Engine Drive.
The Honda Accord with its hybrid engine will return about 49mpg in the city and 47mpg on the highway. It will also be fitted with features like adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, automated emergency braking and more. The base model will retail for $30,440.
The Kia Optima, on the other hand, will come in with a 2.0-liter engine that will be paired with an electric motor. The electric motor will be powered by a 38kW battery pack. The engine will be mated to a six-speed auto transmission and will be offering about 192hp and 271lb ft of torque.
The Kia Optima with its hybrid engine will return about 39mpg in the city and 46mpg on the highway. The base model will retail for $26,846.
