It was an exciting day when Ford announce that they will be releasing a few more RS badge models by 2020. Many believe that the announcement meant that the Ford Fiesta RS will be coming our way.
Ford did mention that they plan to keep the Ford Fiesta ST as the fastest Fiesta model but with the kind of response they had with the Ford Fiesta ST, it was predicted that they would eventually produce an RS model since it looks like that is what the consumers are looking for.
It was speculated that the RS badge Ford Fiesta would come in with a 1.6-liter engine but unlike the ST model, the engine on the RS will be tuned to deliver about 250hp.
However, Tyrone Johnson, the Ford Performance’s chief engineer and head of vehicles has now come out to say that the Ford Fiesta RS is definitely not in the plan. Well that was disappointing.
