The Jeep Compass is nearing the end of its life but new reports are saying that we might see them hanging around in 2017 which means they will still be fighting with the Ford Escape for a little while longer.
The Ford Escape will be coming in with a 2.5 liter Regular Unleaded 1-4 engine that will be delivering about 168hp and 170Nm of torque. The engine will be mated to a six-speed auto transmission and will return about 21mpg in the city and 29mpg on the highway.
The Jeep Compass, on the other hand, will be powered by a 2.4 liter Regular Unleaded I-4 engine that will be delivering about 172hp and 165lb ft of torque. The engine will be mated to a six-speed auto transmission and will return about 21mpg in the city and 28mpg on the highway.
The Ford Escape will come in with a base price of $22,774 while the Jeep Compass base model will retail for only $19,587.
