As of now, the Mazda MX-5 Miata is still ahead of the Fiat 124 Spider but this is not the time for Mazda to be celebrating because Fiat wasn’t actually that far behind.
It was reported that Mazda manages to sell a total of 505 units of the MX-5 Miata last month. Fiat, on the other hand, sold about 444units of the Fiat 124 Spider which means that only were behind by 61units.
The Fiat 124 Spider might be behind but that was also reported to be their worst sales month. So could they have overtaken Mazda if it was one of their good sales months? Well, no really because the same month was also Mazda’s worst sales month.
However, it is clear that Fiat is closing in on Mazda and Mazda might need to start worrying about the 124 Spider. We won’t be surprised if Fiat manages to catch up in one of these months.
