It looks like GM is not going to take things slow this time around as new reports are suggesting that the upcoming 2017 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra might be coming in with a huge performance upgrade.
The rumor started after a GM Powertrain ordering catalog was accidentally leaked online. GM quickly took it down but it was already too late. According to the catalog, both the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra will be coming in with a 6.6-liter turbodiesel V8 engine that will offer about 445hp and 910lb ft of torque. The current model only pushes out about 397hp and 765lb ft of torque.
It is believed that GM was able to get these new numbers thanks to the new intake system that the 2017 models will be coming with. GM have not officially announced it yet but if the new trucks do offer that performance, the Silverado and Sierra will have no trouble taking on the Ford Super Duty model.
