You might want to pick up a few knee pads if you own a Lexus RX as the 2016 Lexus RX might not be able to fully protect them for now. Lexus reported that there might be an issue with the knee airbag module on the 2016 Lexus RX which is why they will now be issuing a recall.
Lexus will be recalling back a total of 5000 units of the 2016 Lexus RX 350 and the Lexus RX 450h after it was reported that the knee airbag module was not manufactured properly and that the problem could result in the airbags not getting deployed properly.
Lexus will start informing their customers of the issue in March. Affected models will be called in to get their car inspected. If there is an issue with the airbags, Lexus will replace the knee airbag assembly.
Luckily, no injuries or death have been reported so far.
