A recent vehicle test by General Motors revealed more information on the upcoming Chevrolet Camaro as the vehicle looks to compete with the likes of the Dodge Challenger and the Ford Mustang.
The first thing we found out when viewing the 2016 Camaro is that it will be riding on the scalable Alpha platform by GM that will help solve some previous problems the Camaro has like weight, big footprint and long roof.
Of course there is no telling on the sort of design that the Camaro will be offering. After all, it is wrapped in a camouflage. However, we can still predict its size, which is somewhat similar to the ATS. The latter was able to offer a great handling due to its proportions and this could be replicated on the Camaro.
Also, the Camaro comes with a quad exhaust, which heavily hints on a V8 engine running the vehicle. On the other hand, the sports car rest on large ZL1-style spoke which is something commonly used on a high performance vehicle. As such, the Camaro could be equipped with a turbocharged four cylinder that is mated to 6-speed manual or 8-speed automatic transmission. Running on such a mill will make the Camaro a serious challenger to the Mustang.
While it is still too early to speak, the Camaro might just retail at $24,550. We can expect to learn more when the Camaro gets released in 2015 before hitting the showrooms in 2016.
