Toyota is known for its pick-up trucks and looking at the latest Hilux, this isn’t set to change. So, what can we glean from this batch of photos?
The first thing that strikes us is the highlander-cum-Corolla grille that’s been divided into horizontal chrome bars, which has become a frequent feature of Toyota’s designs. This new Hilux looks to be much larger than previous versions too.
This truck will probably have a 2.5-litre and/or a 3-litre diesel engine, with the option of a 4-litre petrol V6. It’ll hit the market to do battle with other pick-ups like the VW Amarok, the Mazda BT50, the Nissan Frontier and the Ford Ranger.
The new Hilux should be available at the end of this year or the beginning of next.
