2015 Toyota Hilux: First Details To Surface

Toyota has always been a major player in the pickup truck segment, all thanks to the Hilux. Come next year, a new Hilux will emerge from the land of the rising sun and it is going to be bigger, meaner and better.

Today, we managed to get a glance at the highly anticipated vehicle and there are many design changes from its predecessors. It seems that the upcoming Hilux will be sporting a new grille that looks like a mixture of those from Corolla and the ones from the Highlander.

In detail, the grille will be divided by a horizontal chrome bar, which is commonly used by Toyota on most of its latest vehicles. Also, the Hilux will be wider than its predecessors.

Under the hood, we can expect the Hilux to run on a 2.5L mill, 3L Diesel motor, or the 4L petrol V6. The latter is obviously for the top-tier model.

Regardless of what the powertrain is, the Hilux will surely be a major threat to the Mazda BT50, Volkswagen Amarok, Nissan Frontier, Ford Ranger and many more when it gets released. That will look to happen in Q1 next year.
