Subaru went on the recent Geneva Motor Show to unveil the Viziv 2 Concept. This took many by surprise as the concept vehicle is an SUV and Subaru has not been doing so well with the latest XV Crosstrek.
The failure of the latter cab is blamed on its design, which failed to appeal the masses. For an SUV, many would love to have something sturdy and looks dependable, not soft. Subaru must have realized this fact by now, hence, developing the Viziv 2 concept.
The Concept is about the same size as the existing XV and it looks as if it is ready to step into production. The vehicle comes with features which include a coupe-liked roof line, two exotic-opening rear doors and butterfly style doors in the front. Also, there is the new Subaru grille, hawkeye headlights, and full wheel arches.
Under the hood, the Viziv 2 runs on a 1.6 liter turbocharged F4 paired with an electric motor that is mated to a CVT transmission. The engine will drive on the front wheel while the electric motor powers the rear wheels. In brief, the Viziv 2 is an AWD vehicle.
The Viziv 2 Concept isn’t anything new to the public. It has took the stage three times already which highlights Subaru’s intent to create it. Even if it does not get produced, we can look forward to seeing the next Crosstrek SV to pick up the Viziv 2’s design cues.
