When Subaru launched its all-new WRX and WRX STI models it got a muted response. Fans were disappointed that the vehicles didn’t look like the Subaru WRX concept that the company showcased pre-production. An insider has, however, claimed that the next Impreza and the next XV Crosstrek will look like this concept.
Mamoru Ishii, Subaru chief, said to Auto Express: “…(we’ve) taken the next-generation Impreza’s design in a new direction that we are sure will excite the marketplace,” he added: “We are planning to give the lower section below the hip line a wider, more substantial stance and narrow up the roof section,”
The next Impreza will be one of the first models to get Subaru’s new modular architecture. We can expect to see it in 2016.
