Earlier today, Toyota announced an all-new price bracket for its latest GT86. The Coupe now undergoes a promotion which sees the Primo model costing at just £22,995. On the other hand, the top of the line GT86 cost £24,995.
The price drop came after Subaru announced on the cheaper price tag for the BRZ SE. The sports car now retails at £22,495. The sudden price drop for the BRZ and the GT86 is due to the fact that both vehicles are developed together.
On the downside of things, some features have been removed to achieve the lower price tag. The GT86, for example, does not have rear spoiler, HID headlights, LED running lights, keyless entry, push-button start, dual climate control and cruise control.
As for the Primo, the car on sale is only offered with a manual gearbox. For those that desire an automatic transmission will have to splurge £1,000 for the GT86 model.
The price drop on the GT86 will surely force Subaru to drag the price down for the upcoming BRZ. As mentioned before, both vehicles are identical to each other. Call it a case of monkey-see-monkey-do.
