2015 Porsche Cayenne Review: Same Engine Tuned For Perfection!

Porsche has never failed to produce a successful luxury SUV and the Cayenne is a perfect example of it. For years now, the Cayenne has dominated the luxury SUV segment which is why Porsche updated it with a new model last week.

This all-new Cayenne isn’t that different from its predecessors. It runs on a 4.2-litre twin-turbodiesel V8 engine that offers 380hp and 850Nm of torque. Also, the SUV is able to accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 5.3 seconds and there is also a top speed of 157mph.

What is different is that the all-new Cayenne comes with so many features to offer a pleasant driving experience. For starters, the SUV has got a new multi-function steering that is taken from the 918 hybrid. It also comes with a new navigation system although it is something we don’t actually like. The sat-nav has poor graphics and the avatar often get left behind when driving at high speeds.

In short, the Cayenne is updated to compete with the Range Rover Sport and the BMW X5. Not surprisingly, the SUV is able to outperform its rival with ease. This is owed to the driving systems which transfer the ponies to the rear wheel. Of course, the front wheel gets some horses too but only if a slip occurs. The end result is an SUV that drives like a sports car.

The Porsche Cayenne has never failed to offer a superb driving experience and it doesn’t look like slowing down anytime soon. Then again, Porsche appears to have forgotten about comfort as the Cayenne produces too much tyre and wind noise which can get really annoying at times.
