Spy shots have revealed more details to the upcoming Mazda 3 Facelift that is due for a release next year. The Compact Sedan has been regarded to be one of the best in its class and the upcoming model will be looking to extend that streak.
When looking at the images, we can see that the next Mazda 3 will have a new roof line, hood and A-pillar. This is probably the Kodo design language that Mazda has been promoting all-year long.
Then again, those are the only things that we can learn from the spy shots as Mazda managed to keep their secrets well thanks to the heavy camouflage. Nevertheless, we are certain that the Mazda 3 will be developed in Mexico as the Japanese carmaker aims to curb exchange rates losses.
Under the hood, the Mazda 3 will be powered by a 155hp 2.0 liter four cylinder SkyActiv G engine mated to a six speed transmission. Rumours are hinting that Mazda will also jump in the diesel trend by offering the upcoming compact sedan a diesel mill.
When the Mazda 3 gets released, it will retail at $17,495. This will put it in direct competition with Nissan Sentra, Volkswagen Golf and Chevrole Cruze.
