2015 MacBook Pro: Why Skylake Won’t Happen

The rumours are rife in indicating that the next-gen Apple MacBook Pro is going to feature Intel’s first ever 14nm nanochips, Skylake. Well, this is unlikely to happen and here’s why.

Intel revealed that Skylake won’t be ready at least until late June or early July. While there may be ample time for Apple to apply the feature on the MacBook Pro, the company won’t do so.

This is because Apple needs to finalize the product by WWDC and that is bound to happen in a fortnight from now. If Apple decides to add Skylake, then it would mean a functionless MacBook Pro being demonstrated at WWDC.

Obviously, this is something Apple will not settle for. Besides, the Cupertino-based company is known for making subtle upgrades with its devices hence the next-gen MacBook Pro won’t come with Skylake.
