Lotus might not be the biggest automaker in the world but it is definitely the best when it comes to producing light cars. The Elise, in particular, has got the looks of a super sports car and a performance that is really unique.
The base model Elise R runs on a simple 1.8L 4-cylinder engine that is packed with 189hp and it is also able to return about 21mpg city and 27mpg highway. The figures might not look impressive but the fact that the Elise is super light in weight makes it a thrill to drive.
If we are to check out the Elise without looking at its price tag, we expect the vehicle to retail at around the $70,000 mark. In reality, the Elise sold in England retails at around US$45,000. This is astonishingly affordable especially since the Elise looks like a crazy expensive and exotic sports car. Wouldn’t you agree?
