Land Rover is one of the most prominent SUV manufacturers and soon, it will be releasing the Discovery Sport. The vehicle will be shipped worldwide early next year and will come with a price tag starting from £32,395.
In detail, the Discovery Sport will have 4-trim level and they are the SE, SE Tech, HSE and the HSE Lux. The entry level SE will come with the most basic built and also miss out on the navigation system that is available on all the other levels. The high-end HSE Lux will be retailing at £42,995.
When looking at the Discovery Sport’s design, the vehicle actually looks a lot like the Range Rover Sport. The upcoming SUV is lower, narrower and longer than the Freelander. The design is not that rugged and is in fact, welcoming for those looking for a lifestyle drive.
Lead designer, Gerry McGovern, revealed that the Discovery Sport will be fully customizable. The lad added that the SUV will be tailored to the customer’s need which is, more premium and less brutal.
The interior is made up of vertical elements to give the Discovery Sport a more luxurious look. However, Land Rover made it a bit rugged to inspire confidence and power for the drivers.
The 7-seater SUV will be powered by a 187bhp 2.2-litre SD4 engine that is mated to either the slick nine-speed auto or six-speed manual. Consumers will also get the 4WD/2WD drive transmission. The Discovery Sport will be able to achieve 46mpg, which is average for a car of its stature.
