Bentley Down-Sizing The Continental?

When we speak of Bentley, it is all about luxury and never about anything else. This year alone, the British carmaker has already launched the Continental GT3-R and is already testing their upcoming SUV. However, little do the masses know that Bentley is developing a new line of vehicle.

The new model that is in the makings will be a level below the Continental and it will run on the V8 engines only. This is logical as the vehicle is going to be so much smaller and lighter than the Continental.

Take the Continental GT V8 as an example. The car weighs 5,060 pounds but is still able to produce 500hp from its twin-turbo 4L V8 mill. If the baby Continental is going to weigh 4,500 pounds and run on the same V8 engine, we can expect it to achieve 521hp at 502 lbs-ft of torque. Heck, this stats alone will put the mysterious vehicle above the Porsche 911 and the Aston Martin Vantage.

Price-wise, the smaller Bentley will surely be the cheapest to come from the British carmaker. Also, the car will be the lightest of them all. At the moment, details on the car are still scarce but we expect Bentley to tell us more in the coming year or so.
