The 2015 Honda Fit has finally been released and it comes with a more complex design than its predecessor. Furthermore, this latest model offers plenty of improvement from its predecessor.
Under the hood, Honda equipped the Fit with a new 1.5L direct-injection 4-cylinder engine that offers 130hp. This is 13 ponies more than the previous Fit. The engine collaborates with a 6-speed manual transmission that performs similarly to the previous 5-speed gearbox.
Of course, the additional gear will assist in improving fuel consumption but it also brought forward an issue from the predecessor where the RPM is easily strained. Regardless, the 27/33/29mpg fuel rating can make us forget about the setback. On the other hand, consumers can opt for the 7-speed paddle shifters that consume fuel at a better rate of 28/35/31mpg.
As for the design, the Fit is now longer in length, wider in width and slightly taller in height. The headlights and taillights are more angular than before, and the grille has shifted from chrome to black. The annoying part about the design is with the exaggerated lines that run from the front section, all the way to the rear. There are just too much of it that the Honda Fit looks super messy.
Aside from all that, the Honda Fit is something economical and will suit perfectly for young drivers. In figures, the overall improvements are measured at 10%. While it might sound like minor changes and improvements, the Honda Fit is still one of the best hatchbacks in the world.
