2015 Honda Civic Type-R: New Ad Campaign Looks Retarded

Honda is currently developing the next-generation Civic Type-R and this upcoming vehicle is in anticipation of being the hottest, as well as the best sports hatchback around. We are not far away from the Civic Type-R’s debut as promotion for the vehicle has already commenced in the UK.

The first teaser video of the Civic Type-R was launched for the UK audience last week and there is only one word that can describe it- bizarre. The clip is titled R-Rated and it looks as if Honda has hired a bunch of schizophrenia patients for their marketing department.

In detail, the video started by saying that the Type-R badge is not for every driver. Then, viewers will witness aggressive weird imagery combined with some glimpses of the Civic Type-R. It begins with a pack of wolves, androgynous models, a lady with a samurai sword and a flaming speed camera. After going through so much nonsense, the clip will then end with the Civic Type-R.

Then again, it is much easier if you see the video for yourself. Perhaps, Honda is trying too hard in injecting socio-thriller elements into the promotional video.

Honda’s Head of Marketing, Olivia Dunn, revealed that the promo campaign encompasses the racing spirit perfectly. She added that the clip will keep the adrenaline high. Maybe she is wrong. Heck, maybe we are wrong. How about you decide?
