If there is one vehicle worth studying at the recent Beijing Auto Show, it is DongFang’s new-looking Spirior. The mid-sized sedan has just got its concept design unveiled and it is revealed to be the upcoming Facelift treatment for the Spirior.
This is really important, particularly to the fans of Honda. Unless you’ve been living under the rock, Honda has already confirmed that it is giving the Accord a facelift next year. Furthermore, the Spirior is basically the Accord, renamed for the Chinese market.
Honda even went as far as applauding the Spirior, describing it a “significant advancements in exterior design, dynamic performance and technologies as well as safety features”.
Under the hood, the Spirior Facelift runs on a 2.4L direct injection 4-cylinder petrol engine that is mated to an 8-speed DCT transmission. If our predictions are to come true, then the upcoming Honda Accord Facelift will be a carbon copy of the Spirior Facelift.
This will mean that the new-looking Accord will have a frontal design that looks near-identical to that on the Civic Type R. Also, the vehicle is going to come with features like lane departure warning, blind spot display system and head-up display.
