Ford did issue a recall not too long ago to recall back some of their models that might have a door latch issue and it looks like they are not done with it yet. The automaker has just announced that they will be expanding the recall to include 1.5million more units.
Models that will be affected by the recall will remain the same and those includes the 2013-2015 Ford C-Max, 2013-2015 Ford Escape, 2012-2015 Ford Focus, 2015 Ford Mustang, 2015 Lincoln MKC, and the 2014-2016 Ford Transit Connect. The total number of affected model will not be 2,383,292.
According to the previous recall report, the pawl spring tab on the door latches might break which would lead to the door not being able to close. This could lead to the doors opening up mid-drive. Those affected will be getting their door latches replaced for free.
There is already one accident and three injuries that might be related to the door latch issue.
