Sales of the Bugatti Veyron are coming to a conclusion and once it is sold out, Bugatti will start working on its successor. The carmaker is well-known for creating the world’s fastest car and it is only fitting if the Veyron gets succeeded by something more powerful.
Now, word has it that the successor will be called the Chiron and it will be arriving as soon as 2015. If so, then the Chiron must arrive with at least 1,250hp to break the speed recorded but the Veyron.
It isn’t by accident that the Chiron name got picked. It was already used before, in 1999, for a concept that was unveiled at that time. The concept arrived with a 6.3-liter, W-18 engine that is developed by Volkswagen and it is able to produce 555 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque, distributed over a permanent 4WD system.
Then again, the Chiron idea got scraped and the Veyron got created instead. However, much of the latter’s success was inspired by the Chiron. Since the Veyron has already become a major success, it is only right for it to return the favour to Chiron.
While nothing official has been mentioned as of yet, the Chiron got its visualization leaked and it looks so much like the Veyron. Then again, it is much larger than the latter as it runs on the 8.0-liter W-16 engine.
