Honda’s luxury arm, Acura, has never been able to achieve a success like Lexus did for Toyota. However, they have yet to throw the whit e towel and wish to strike strong with their upcoming model, the TLX.
The latter is the direct replacement for both the TL and TSX. Also, the TLX will be part of Acura’s 2015 MY line up
The TLX is built on the FWD architecture as it draw its power from either the 206hp 2.4 liter 4 cylinder engine with an 8 speed automatic transmission or the 290bhp 3.5 liter V6 engine mated to a 9 speed automatic transmission. Acura revealed that there will also be a 3.5 liter SH-AWD model coming in the near future.
In terms of price, the 2.4 liter version will cost $30,995. Getting it with the technology package will see the price escalating to $35,025. The 3.5 liter FWD, on the other hand, retails at $35,220. Taking it with the technology package will cost $39,250 and the advanced package will cost $42,500. Finally is the SH-AWD model which cost $41,450 with the technology package and $44,700 with the advanced package.
If anyone is interested, they should pre-book the TLX now as Acura is giving away $500 vouchers and introductory price with APR financing for the vehicles. The vouchers can be spent on accessories.
