The highly anticipated Paris Auto Show is just a fortnight away from now but Renault couldn’t wait any longer and released the concept images of the upcoming Espace. The line of family MPV is about to get updated with a totally new model and it looks to feed the needs of a large family.
When viewing the images, it seems that the Espace managed to break away from its old design. The new look is heavily inspired by the Initiale Paris concept car seen last year. Despite that fact, Renault claims that the MPV is also inspired by a crossover. True enough; the MPV does come with a tall ground clearance and muscular stance like most SUVs in the market.
Furthermore, the Espace is no longer restricted to being a 7-seater. This upcoming model will also come with 5-seat models as well. Renault added that the interior is going to offer a brightly-lit, comfortable and modular ambience. There will also be a floating central console.
The upcoming Espace is going to be the first of its kind to run on the CFM1 scalable platform that is developed by the Renault-Nissan Alliance. It will be offered with range of downsized and efficient four-cylinder petrol and diesel turbos.
Then again, the drive system remains to be a mystery. With the Espace stepping into the realm of SUVs, it might just be equipped with the 4WD system. Of course, this will revealed when the Paris Motor Show kicks off in a fortnight from now.
