2014 Mazda 3 vs Prius C: Hot, Hot, Hatchbacks

Hot hatchbacks have never fall out of trend due to its efficiency and ease of use in the hectic city roads. Today, hatchbacks are all about getting the best mileage while offering the best performance possible. The latest Mazda 3 and the Toyota Prius C are two of the best cars around. However, which is better?

The Prius C runs on a 1.5 liter Hybrid 4-cylinder with CVT transmission. It has proved itself to be one of the world’s greenest vehicles as it recorded 46mpg in the city and 53mpg on the highway. The car comes with climate control A/C, THE STANDARD AUIO JACK, Bluetooth, USB/iPod connection, hands free calling and power exterior mirror control. Toyota also equipped the Prius C with the hill-start assistance system. One can own the Prius C for only $19,080.

Then there is the Mazda 3. Retailing at $18,945, the car is powered by a 2.0 liter gas 4 cylinder paired with a 6 speed manual transmission. The fuel consumption is not as impressive as the Prius C as the Mazda 3 recorded 9mpg in the city and 40mpg on the highway.

However, the Mazda 3 is not short of features as it comes with 1-Touch windows, cruise control, keyless entry, keyless ignition. Sport seats, audio jack, Bluetooth, hands free calling, power exterior mirror control and USB/iPod connection. Safety features include EBD and Engine Immobilizer.

Obviously, the Toyota Prius C is the better car in this contest. While it might cost slightly more than the Mazda 3, the fuel efficiency will be a massive money saver in the long run. In addition to that, the Prius C offers a high-resale value.
