2014 Lexus Landcruiser GX460 Review

The latest Lexus Landcruiser GX460 exhibits class and luxury like no other. The mid-size SUV can accommodate 7 passengers at one time and it will come with all the latest features and technologies.

In terms of looks, the GX460 has a huge frame with corporate-wide Spindle Grille up front with HID and LED lighting, a reshaped rear bumper, and a new range-topping trim level. The entry level GX460 will be retailing at $50,000 and the highest range retails at $62,770.

The GX460 is as powerful as it get. The vehicle has the strength to tow a 6,500pound trailer with ease. This is thanks to the 4.6L V8 engine. Despite the large engine capacity, the GX460 can only offer 301hp and 329 lbs-ft of torque. The vehicle operates on the AWD which serves the masses well if they are looking to drive across the continent.

The huge engine causes some serious blow to the vehicle’s efficiency. The GX460 can only achieve 15mpg on the city and 20mpg on the highway. This is really poor as other mid-size SUV in its class are able to offer at least 25mpg and above.

When driving the vehicle, there are multiple modes to choose from. First is the comfort mode which runs on air suspension. Applying this will give off that floating feel as if the driver is on a boat. Then, there is the sports mode which removes every limit and gives users access to the raw power of the GX460.

All in all, the Landcruiser GX460 is a luxurious mid-size SUV that has the best comfort to offer. However, the vehicle lacks the performance and efficiency has been disappointing. Even the rich majority wouldn’t buy it.
