The official HTC Facebook page has gone ahead and revealed the company’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update roadmap and in it are some good surprises as well as a couple of disappointments.
HTC Android Ice Cream Sandwich update roadmap: HTC Sensation (4G, XL), Rezound, Incredible S… no Thunderbolt
Starting off with the good news, the HTC Facebook page has stated that the first rollout of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich begins in March, with the first batch comprising of the original HTC Sensation, HTC Sensation 4G and the HTC Sensation XL. That is all.
The second batch is expected to roll out “later this year” but no exact time has been set. The second batch will include the HTC Rezound and HTC Incredible S. Now despite the HTC Rezound being the latest HTC Android device on the market, buyers will have to wait longer than the older Sensation buyers to get their ICS fix. This will no doubt be disappointing news for Rezound buyers who had the option to pick the Motorola DROID RAZR and Samsung Galaxy Nexus at the time of release in stores (the RAZR is expected to get Android 4.0 shortly and the Nexus came with it preloaded).
Another disappointing discovery is that the HTC Thunderbolt is not mentioned in the HTC Android Ice Cream Sandwich update roadmap.
