Call it a coincidence but all the three top Android tablets on the market right now have simultaneously received new official updates on the same day. Here’s what’s new.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, ASUS Transformer Prime & Verizon Motorola XOOM LTE get update
Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1: There appears to be a new firmware update for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 that among other things brings the new Android Market. Head to: Settings >> About >> Software update, to force trigger it.
Verizon Motorola XOOM LTE: No, it isn’t the long awaited Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update unfortunately. According to the Verizon support page, your tablet will now support dual International Mobile Subscriber Identities (IMSI) and a bugfix for restoring data connectivity after exiting Airplane Mode. That is all.
ASUS Transformer Prime: A minor update was pushed earlier yesterday to the quad-core Android ICS tablet, bumping it up to 9.4.2.13. You can head to Settings >> About >> Software update, to trigger it. The update is a new kernel and brings more enhancements to WiFi and GPS, as well as reportedly improving performance and battery life.
