We saw Samsung take its Galaxy Tab 10.1 back to the drawing board last year when Apple unveiled its slim iPad 2. The result was a super slim Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 that was dubbed the world’s thinnest tablet.
Toshiba AT200 slimmer than iPad 2 and Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1
Now Samsung will have to surrender that title to the new super-slim Toshiba AT200. Measuring in at just 7.7mm (the world’s thinnest smartphone, Motorola DROID RAZR, measure 7mm), it is now available for sale in the UK via the Carphone Warehouse at a starting price tag of £399 for the 16GB model.
If you’re late to the party and didn’t catch our coverage of the Toshiba AT200 from last month then let us recap. The Toshiba AT200 Android Gingerbread tablet boasts a 10.1-inch 1280 x 800 LED-backlit display, 1.2GHz dual-core TI OMAP 4430 processor, 1GB RAM, front and rear-facing cameras at 1.3 and 5-megapixels respectively.
At this time there is no word on if and when an Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update will be made available for the tablet. We’ve all seen the Toshiba Thrive in action so we’ve got high hopes for this tablet as well.
