The Samsung Galaxy name no doubt steals the limelight in the Android community whenever the folks over at Sammy decide to announce one. However with the last few Galaxy devices coming with price tags on the higher end of the scale (Samsung Galaxy Nexus, Galaxy Note, Galaxy S2), the Galaxy Attain 4G will no doubt attract buyers.
MetroPCS Samsung Galaxy Attain 4G
First announced only a few weeks ago by MetroPCs, the Samsung Galaxy Attain 4G is now available officially from Best Buy. Now here is the interesting part though. This Galaxy phone will set you back $274.99 contract-free. That’s right, no expensive contracts with two-year lock-ins.
As you can expect though, the specs aren’t the type to match the other US Galaxy phones found on the top 4 carriers. Look forward to a 3.5-inch display with 320 x 480 pixels resolution, a light 4.2 ounces, 1GHz single-core processor, 512MB RAM, 3-megapixel rear-facing camera, 1.3-megapixel front-facing webcam, WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, Flash support and, of course, 4G connectivity.
And don’t expect Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich as this device comes with Android 2.3 Gingerbread (we also wouldn’t hold our breath on any updates in the near future).
On a side note, the Samsung Galaxy S3 is rumored to launch at MWC 2012 next month.
