Apple Tries To Throw Off iPhone 5 Leaker, Reveals Details Instead [Report]

With the iPhone 4S being a minor redesign in terms of form factor, the iPhone 5 is expected to be fresh from ground up. While not much else is known beyond that at this time, there may now be some potential clues as to what we can expect.

iPhone 5 rumors

Earlier this week a report came in stating that the iPhone 5 was ready for production at China’s Foxconn factories. According to the source that leaked the intel, there were several distinct iPhone 5 models being produced, which suggested that Apple may be trying to throw off a potential leaker that they can’t seem to get their hands on.

However as the source notes, there were a couple of things common between these iPhone models and hence appear to be what we can expect the new iPhone 5 to based on. They all have screen sizes bigger than 4-inches, they are all symmetrical in thickness (that’s right, no teardrop design as previously suggested), and best of all: they all look nothing like the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S. The last part is our favorite.

Now what wasn’t mentioned but is very obvious right now is that if the iPhone 5 was in fact ready for production in China then we may actually be able to see it hit shelves here in the US this summer instead of the proposed fall release date given the iPhone 4S launch.

We’ll keep you posted as more develops. Have a great weekend folks!
