Mid last year a leaked Sprint roadmap hinted that we may see the Samsung Epic 2 hit the US very soon. Unfortunately this never seem to have come to fruition and news about this 4-inch Android started to vanish shortly after.
Samsung Epic 2 headed to Virgin or Boost Mobile
Well it now looks like the Samsung Galaxy Epic 2 is back and while it may not be Sprint bound, it is bound for one of Sprint’s low budget carriers. Popping up in a Cellebrite’s device tracking system caught by ASyndicate, the QWERTY packing Android boasts a four-inch 540×960 display, 1.2GHz single-core Hummingbird chip, and an 8-megapixel camera. It will likely land on either Virgin or Boost Mobile and hence unlikely to be equipped with LTE radios.
There are no clues to a release date but the fact that it has appeared on a Cellebrite device suggests that stores are getting prepped for its release and customers who wish to transfer their contacts over from their older phone.
The Samsung Epic 2 isn’t really a game-changing Android but on a budget carrier it is certainly up there with the best.
