Samsung Galaxy Note Sends Note To Aliens, Breaks Guinness World Record While Doing So

The Samsung Galaxy Note continues to build up quite a buzz despite launching a couple of months back. Now as it approaches its US carrier launch, it is back in the spotlight thanks to a clever attempt at breaking a new Guinness World Record.

Samsung Galaxy Note: Guinness World Record stunt, NFC & Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich

Last month, the Samsung Galaxy Note sent a note to the Galaxy courtesy of Turkish cartoonist Erdil Yasaroglu. The Samsung Galaxy Note promotion team along with Erdil drew the world’s largest comic square which covered 10.952,050 square meters.

The idea behind the event was a message to aliens in case they were watching from outer space (think reverse crop circle). This stunt just before the Samsung Galaxy Note was disassembled and in it revealed an NFC chip. Given that Samsung has promised that an Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for the Galaxy Note is right around the corner, it may be also safe to assume that this device will soon be using NFC and Google Wallet.

The Samsung Galaxy Note is expected to hit AT&T on February 18 with a price tag of $299.99 on contract, if BGR’s sources prove true.
