While many of us take reproduction very seriously, Apple takes the production of its popular iPhone much more and has such has surpassed the birth rate of babies born on the planet in Q4 2011.
Apple got “busier” than us in Q4 2011 with iPhone production
The Cupertino based company broke records yesterday when it announced that it sold over 37 million iPhones in the last three months of 2011, a number that beats the number of babies born worldwide (uses the global average daily birth rate during a 98 day period).
This interesting factoid was first brought up by digital design guru Luke Wroblewski on Twitter: “There are more iPhones sold per day (402k) than people born in the World per day (300k).”
There is nothing to panic about of course as we are talking about Apple producing iPhones and not iRobots quicker than we are producing babies. On a side note, Apple’s reported profits were used in more comparisons with other interesting ones including the fact that they made enough to bail out Greece from bankruptcy.
