Engadget got a “save the date” email from Samsung US earlier this week that said that a new Galaxy device will be launched on August 15. There were no further details, but it’s probably a US-bound gadget to meet up with the current popular Samsung Galaxy S3 which is available via all 4 major US carriers.
Samsung Galaxy S3 to get a new US sibling next month
The email read: “please join Samsung Electronics America for a major announcement and unveiling of the newest Galaxy device.” So, there are a couple of possibilities – it may be the Galaxy S Blaze Q, as internal documents have that self same release date for this phone. The Blaze is exclusive to T-Mobile for now, though, so may not warrant so much publicity. It could also be the Note 10.1, which was touted at MWC in February and reviewed the next month.
Now we’d love to see the Note 2, but it’s highly unlikely that this is the mystery device, as this much-vaunted phablet is believed to be launching at IFA 2012 later on in August. Still, there’s nothing like a guessing game to whet the appetite, eh?
What are you betting on? Is a phone, phablet or tablet? Could it be the successor to the Samsung DROID Charge? A mini 7-inch tablet to rival the Google Nexus 7?
