Verizon Motorola DROID RAZR HD: Everything You Need To Know

Two of the best-selling Android handsets on Verizon last quarter were the Motorola Droid Razr and the Droid Razr Maxx. Therefore it comes as no big surprise that the team of Verizon and Motorola plan on launching the Droid Razr HD. However at this time there is very little information about the specs, pricing or a release date. The folks over at GottaBeMobile have compiled all there is out there about this elusive smartphone so far. Let’s take a look.

Motorola DROID RAZR HD rumors: specs, release date, price

In regards to the release date this remains a total mystery as there have not yet been any rumors about the launch date. This could mean one of two things. The first could be that the pair is doing a superb job at keeping this quiet. However this does not seem likely. The other is that the launch date for the device is nowhere near. This could mean that the launch date may be towards the end of the year after Apple reveal their latest iPhone 5 for Verizon. There has been the faintest of whispers that the device will be revealed in August but there is no evidence to support this.

In June leaked photos showed us what to expect from the design of the handset and it looks a lot like the Razr and Razr Maxx. Photos showed a Kevlar back and the camera in the middle of the handset on the back of the device, which has a flat surface. There have also been rumours that the device will have the 3,300 mAh battery of the Razr Maxx. There is support for USB and Micro HDMI on the bottom in the leaked pictures too.

The display will of course be HD and this is likely to make the phone a huge draw. The display, according to benchmarks say that it will be 720p and this means it should be in contention with handsets already on the market. It may also have the ColorBoost tech we saw in the Atrix HD.

Specs of the handset also remain somewhat a mystery but benchmarks have said that it will come with the Snapdragon S4 processor that is in the HTC One X and Samsung Galaxy S3. The handset could also come with Jelly Bean and all the new features it holds. At the moment it is thought that it has Android 4.0.

The camera is thought to be 13 megapixels and it should be able to capture video in 1080p and come with many bells and whistles.

Price wise there has been no info but it is thought that the handset will be competitively priced. There have been suggestions that it may be in the range of $199 as this is around the launch price for a handset of the calibre, no more.
