Google Chrome could be the reason behind the recently reported crashes on the new MacBook Air, reports Gizmodo. There have been lots of supporting posts all over the net about the new MacBooks which have only just gone on sale and are in their first days of use. The issues reported include them freezing up and crashing like mad and this has caused a lot of skepticism.
Google Chrome reason behind new MacBook Air crashes?
Gizmodo’s thought about the cause of the problems is Google Chrome. In the support communities at Apple, owners have been frustrated over their new laptops and have been griping. One user reported that his laptop had crashed 10 plus times and all of them when the user was using the Chrome web browser.
However others have said that they have experienced these issues and they have not stopped until Chrome has been closed off. MacRumors forums have also been very busy dealing with postings regarding the same issue. Owners here have also reported that the laptop crashes continually and abruptly, with no warning. On the plus side the performance of the MacBook Air is good, when the browser is not running.
The answer to the problem at the moment seems to be to steer clear of the web browser at least until an update has been handed out. For now users will have to resort to using Firefox or Safari and tough it out.
