Motorola Droid RAZR HD vs Samsung Galaxy S3: When Worlds Collide

Samsung have hit a slam dunk with their latest phone the Samsung Galaxy S3. More than nine million handsets had been pre-ordered internationally before it was launched globally, and many who pre-ordered in North America are still waiting for the handset due to its massive demand. However competitor to Samsung, Motorola, is expected to come out with a handset that will rival the S3, we’re of course talking about the Motorola DROID RAZR HD.

Samsung Galaxy S3 vs Motorola DROID RAZR HD

Rumors have it that the Motorola RAZR HD will come with a dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor which has been clocked at 1.5GHz (US version of S3 has the same S4 processor but clocked at 1.4GHz). The handset should be ready for 4G LTE networks but the downside is that it will only come with 1GB of RAM. This is 1GB less than the S3 which has 2GB RAM. However on the subject of networks, the Motorola DROID RAZR HD is expected to come Global Ready too, meaning that it can use both CDMA and GSM bands.

The screen resolution of the phone is rather odd. The Samsung Galaxy S3 comes with a resolution of 1280 x 720 while the Motorola DROID RAZR HD is thought to have a screen of 1196 x 720 and some of this real estate would be taken over by the on-screen buttons.

One of the biggest differences is the battery. The battery of the DROID RAZR HD is thought to be the same as the MAXX’s at 3,300mAh. This is a massive difference over the battery of the S3 at 2100mAh. The handset is thought to come with a 13 megapixel camera as opposed to the 8 megapixel camera on the S3 as well.

The Motorola DROID RAZR HD will likely launch in the coming months by which time the Samsung Galaxy S3 will have a good foothold in the US market (stock shortages are preventing it from happening at this time).
