Google Nexus 7 Full Specs: Jellybean Preloaded, From $199 [LEAK]

A document has been leaked by Gizmodo Australia that tells us the specs of the highly anticipated Google Nexus 7 tablet. Google I/O is just around the corner and already fans are expecting many Android related announcements. The tablet has been rumoured for some time now and according to the leaked report, the 7 inch tablet will be made by Asus as suggested in a benchmark.

Google Nexus 7 specs and price leaked

The leaked internal training documentation states that the Google Nexus 7 tablet specs include: a 7 inch IPS display that comes with a 1280 x 800 resolution and a viewing angle of 178 degrees; Android 4.1 Jellybean; Tegra 3 processor of 1.3 Ghz; nVidia GeForce 12 Core GPU; 1 GB of RAM; 8GB or 16GB versions of internal storage; 1.2 Megapixel front facing camera; NFC with Google Wallet; Android Beam; and a battery that gives up to 9 hours use.

The specs of the Android Jellybean tablet handset are very impressive and there are two things that are of interest. The cheapest version, with 8GB internal storage, comes in at $199 and the 16GB at $249. This means that the Nexus 7 would be in competition with the Kindle Fire, but would have better hardware.

The document suggests that the Nexus 7 will come pre-installed with Android 4.1 JellyBean and there will be updates from Google direct. The release of a Google branded tablet device is imminent following the reveal of iOS 6 from Apple, the Surface from Microsoft and announcement of Windows 8. Of course many are saying that it is about time that Google drew in the reins of the Android tablet, which is currently floundering. Whether or not the leaked documents are real remains to be seen but at least we only have to wait for a few more days until the I/O.
