Samsung Galaxy Nexus users who were signed up with Verizon were left waiting five months for their Android 4.0.4 update. According to GottaBeMobile, when networks mess up they most often make it up to their subscribers in order to maintain a good reporte (subscribers are in for the long run after all).
Sprint, for example, gave free cases to customers who had been waiting for the delayed HTC EVO 4G LTE. Apple gave away bumpers to customers disappointed with the iPhone 4 signal strength. So Verizon should do the right thing and give the patient Nexus users something too.
Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus Android 4.1 Jellybean update to smooth things over?
A free bumper case wouldn’t really cut it, given that the Nexus has been out long enough for users to buy third party cases. GBM thinks that Verizon might rollout Android 4.1 JellyBean tout suite to smooth things over.
Verizon could make sure that Nexus owners get JellyBean as a priority when Google announces it. This would bring a smile to disgruntled faces and make the customers love Verizon once more. A lot of people bought the Nexus believing that it would be among the first to get bug fixes as well as major Android rollouts.
Verizon did try to rectify things when the 4.04 update came out five months after the Nexus launch, as this fixed a lot of bug with the phone. While this helped a lot of people, it did little to restore faith and affection in Nexus phones that relied on networks for their updates.
