The Samsung Galaxy S3 has proved to be a massive hit with customers and is expected to overtake the iPhone 4S in sales this quarter – a first for an Android smartphone. In the middle of all this hoo-haa, though, is even more news from the Korean giant.
Samsung Mobile tweets Samsung Galaxy Note 2 coming
There is another Samsung product in the pipeline – there have been rumors and rustlings, and now we know it’s true – there WILL be a Samsung Galaxy Note 2. TheDroidGuy reports that these tidings come straight from the horse’s mouth, as a tweet from Samsung Mobile has confirmed the existence of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2.
OK, it’s hardly a press release, but this is a highly reliable source, and a tweet from the official Twitter account of Samsung Mobile Arabia is a de facto unofficial announcement. The Samsung Galaxy S3 went on sale in the Gulf area way before other parts of the world (the first in fact as you could pick it up in stores in Dubai back in early May), and so this is another reason to believe that Samsung Arabia knows something the rest of the world doesn’t.
The specs of the Note 2, which is a phablet – are believed to include an unbreakable panel display of 5.3-inches (maybe larger). The Samsung Galaaxy Note 2 is also thought to be powered by a quad-core chip and run Android 4.1 (AKA Jelly Bean). Samsung will most likely release the Galaxy Note 2 in October, but no-one knows if this October launch will be worldwide or just in Arabia. Whatever and whenever, Note fans will be queuing up to upgrade to the Note 2.
