Foxconn, who build products for Apple, have tainted the otherwise flawless record the Samsung Galaxy S3 has thanks t to the numerous reviews and benchmarks. The criticism comes by way of their CEO, Terry Gou, who shared his thoughts on the Android superphone and the upcoming iPhone 5 which his company is reportedly producing.
iPhone 5 to take top spot away from Samsung Galaxy S3 states Foxconn CEO
9to5Mac said that Gou had claimed the new iPhone 5 will put the Galaxy S3 ‘to shame’. He also said that the company had a track record of snitching on competitors. This was a reference to the incident which happened in 2010 where the company sided with the European Commission when it was looking into price fixing by four Taiwanese companies. Gou said that he thought Samsung sidestepped the investigation, helping authorities with what he describes as being tainted witnesses.
Gou did not actually say why he thought the new iPhone 5 would put the Galaxy S3 to shame and he did not go into any details about his views on Sharp being the pioneers in technology when it comes to flat screen displays which would give them a 3 year head start over Samsung. It is thought that Sharp will be working on the displays for the TV to come from Apple by the way.
Earlier in the year Foxconn got into the headlines when Gou confirmed development of an Apple TV which had the tech world reeling. Some publications actually reported this information as though Apple had made the announcement. However Apple did not make the announcement and the CEO, according to Foxconn, did not confirm there was to be an Apple TV.
