HTC Rezound Ice Cream Sandwich Update Now Available (Update)

Owners of the HTC Rezound can get their hands on the Ice Cream Sandwich update for their device from today, reports DroidLife. However there is much confusion as Verizon have not made the announcement and none of the readers of Droid-Life have received it despite HTC officially making the statement.

HTC Rezound Ice Cream Sandwich now available (Update: Not)

The support page of HTC gave all the details of the new upgrade and the build is said to be the same one that was leaked last week. The update was then changed to the one posted last week as it appears that HTC got ahead of themselves. The posting before it was changed was as below.

The software update comes with the software number 3.14.605.10.710RD with Baseband Version of 1.22.10.0421r and 1.22.10.0424r. The changelog goes on to say that the update will upgrade the device to ICS which provides numerous features and enhancements.

These include applications and widgets such as V CAST Media Manage being updated to Backup Assistant Plus with an enhanced user experience. Caller Name ID updated and added to All Apps and time zone issues having being resolved with the clock widget. The update will also provide device features such as Wireless Alerting System, Cisco AnyConnect support with improved VPN functionality, improved data connectivity, improved stability and improved mobile hotspot connectivity. Improvements have also been made to the mail app to display Yahoo mail content properly.

It went on to say that if users wanted the update they had to be on the build 201.605.11 and the update would take around 70 minutes.

The update has now been changed on the support page to show the previous update and there is no mention of when we might see the new one again. However with all the information having been published final approval cannot be too far away.
