A larger and more powerful Samsung Galaxy Note is coming our way for October, reports CNET. Rumors have been spreading over the internet all week that a 5.5 inch 1,680 x 1,050 display could be the new screen on the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 alongside a faster CPU and more memory.
Samsung Galaxy Note 2 to take on iPhone 5 this October (rumor)
UbuntuLife said that the device is to include the Exynos 5240 dual core processor which was clocked at 1.7GHz and rumor has it that it will have 4G LTE connectivity. It has been suggested that there could be 1.5GB RAM but then with the Galaxy S3 having 2GB this could leave many disappointed.
At the moment there is no official word from Samsung so the rumors have to be taken with a pinch of salt. Samsung have enjoyed moderate success with their first Galaxy Note and carrier support has been limited (T-Mobile and Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note still just rumors). Whether other carriers in the US will take it up remains to be seen and of course Samsung will want to get the most from the original before announcing a more powerful version.
If the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 does land this October then it will find itself go head to head with the iPhone 5 which is also reported to have a fall release date.
For now we can recap on the specs of the original Galaxy Note: 5.29 inch HD WXGA Super AMOLED screen, 800 x 1280 display, Dual core 1.4GHz processor, ARM cortex A9 CPU, and 8 megapixel camera with 1920 x080 video at 30 fps frame rate.
