MacBook Pro 2012 With 13-Inch Retina Display Available In October [REPORT]

Analyst Ming-Chi-Kuo was not far off the mark when he predicted that Apple would launch the 15-inch MacBook Pro Retina alongside their present line rather than having it as a direct replacement. The same applied to his prediction that Apple would stop production of the 17 inch MacBook Pro. Therefore it makes sense to take a look at his latest report and see what it predicts Apple might have in store for the future line up.

2012 MacBook Pro with 13-inch Retina Display available in October?

Apple has of course recently announced their 15 inch Retina MacBook Pro and it is available, with a month’s waiting time. Kuo has also released a new report which takes a look at plans for the 13 inch model which he predicts would have a thickness of around 0.71 inches. Supporting this idea of the 13 inch MacBook Pro with retina display has been the discovery of a listing in the database for MiniBatteryLogger, the battery utility app. In the listing is a MacBook Pro (10,2) and the 15 inch version of the MacBook Pro which is designated MacBook Pro (10,1). Of course the 10,2 could be nothing but a fake however there are many indications that it could be legitimate.

The first reason is that it appeared on 25th April which was ahead of information on the 2012 MacBook Pro Retina. Then there is the fact that the battery has a registered capacity of 6580mAh which is 14 percent greater than that of the non-retina 13 inch model and the 15 inch retina MacBook Pro having a 8460 mAh battery which would be around 22.5% greater in capacity than that of the non-retina model. This does at least suggest that the battery of the proposed 13 inch retina MacBook Pro is in the same range.

We’re still not done deciding between which of the current range of MacBook Pro 2012 models released we should get. Now with a 13-inch MacBook Pro Retina hitting the rumor mill, it’s not going to be any easier.
