T-Mobile has begun rolling out the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Samsung Galaxy S2. However the update is not over the air and comes by way of Samsung Kies software for the computer.
T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S2 ICS update released
The ICS update can be downloaded from Samsung and there are many benefits to having it installed. These include better performance and stability along with enhancements to Wi-Fi and Voicemail. There is also the new TouchWiz user interface to enjoy.
T-Mobile have also ensured that owners of the Galaxy S2 are able to make the transition easily from Gingerbread to Ice Cream Sandwich thanks to a special document which is titled ‘Top 10 things to know about the TouchWiz ICS update’. Bear in mind that when making the update you will lose your home screen but this is a small price to pay for the benefits that the update brings.
If you have T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S2 and the Kies software all you have to do is connect the two together and get the update. Given that it isn’t an over-the-air update, there should be no staggered release and every T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S2 user should be able to download it right away.
